OK, so here are four Wylds that I converted from Zykhee Scouts. The one at right rear I did this week, the other three I did about 8 years ago. You can see the differences! But I am going to do two more like the new one, so the unit will be half-and-half as far as styles are concerned. These, along with the Myntokk and Wardyn I posted a few days ago, will be a 200-point force (with Myntokk using the rules for a Warrior Monarch.)

I could not seem to take a crisp picture to save my life ...

OK, so I am progressing on my Wyld Wardyn Bunch. Up first is Myntokk. I never liked the idea of Blue Zykhee, so I have painted them in a variety of earthtones. The Wardyns do not use tattoos, but I figured warpaint would give them a feral feel. And I did not like the tips on his Hel'kai staff, so I made some new ones for him. I also starightened his body a little, so he isn't so hunched.

I also have done a Wardyn built off the Myntokk chassis. I reposed him to a kneeling pose, ...

OK, so I am going to be building some themed terrain to go with my forces. In additon to having dedicated items for each of the terrain effects for my forces, I am also going to build some regular terrain to go with them. For my Neo-Soviets, I am building some burned-out houses (courtesy of the Rezolution terrain disc) and some industrial stuff. I will be using artificial plants from the craft store to do some jungle for my Bluefangs and Mixed-Breed Growlers, and I will be using Crystal Caves ...

I went through my Shard this morning to see exactly how much I already have painted up... with my standard unti options figured in, I have over 1200 points of Shard just waiting to be rebased. With the stuff I am waiting to arrive, it will be well over 1500 points. Of course, I plan to use just a fraction of that, but still that is a lot of Shard to just having laying about for seven years.

Anyways, my new Shard will be pretty much a completely different force, but some of the old elements ...

It's kind of funny, really. I decided to re-base all of my Vor minis (at leats the ones I wanted to use) on the Dark Age bases. Which worked out really well, my Neo-Soviets, Shard, and Growlers are all beautiful. But I ran out of the 30mm bases last night, having just enough to finish up my Growlers and for my soon-to-be-arriving Shard. And my Union troops are staring at me. Taunting me. Saying "Are you going to weenie out and put us on the old-style bases, or are you going to spring the ...

OK, so I am working on my last two Cyclopses as I write this, and that will wrap up about 1000 points of Neo-Soviets for me. I still have lots of mutants and Spetsnav to repaint/finish, but I have no plans to work on those in the near future.

Moving forward, I am going to be rebasing what Shard I have and work up some new forces for them. I wrote a bit on the Vor forum about my plans for my Shard, so I won't bother to repeat it here. But with what I already have painted, I am in the 1000-point ...

So, looking on after the Shard are finished, I have two choices before me:

1) Buy a Whitetusk Chieftain (to use as a Bull) and finish out my mixed Razorback/Whitetusk pack (which also requires a pilgrimage to the Lord Of Excess's Pleasure palace to locate my Razorfang to use a the actual Chieftain.)

-Pros: I need to assemble and paint one model, and finish up only a dozen others that are half done from a lifetime ago. Come to think of it, I have the actual Whitetusk Bull half done as well, ...

I prefer 600-point gamesmyself, but I can accomodate 750-point games as well (if we have the time.) 1000 points is a little big for my attention span.
